Order of listings
Hi there,
thanks a lot for the great book! Sometimes I use this repo to look at your code samples and the order of directories is a bit confusing. I am not sure though about the solution, but what if directories in this repo could be renamed, for example, from 1.1 to 01.1. Will this solution sort the directories in the correct order?
You're welcome @Okundin, thanks for the suggestion! I've actually switched to using listing names rather than numbers in my recent books: for example, https://github.com/bitfield/tpg-tools2
This not only makes it easier for me to add, remove, and re-order things if necessary, but I think it also makes it easier for readers to find them. Let me know what you think! There will be an update to 'For the Love of Go' in due course, along with this repo.
Good morning, John!
Thanks for the quick response. Names sorted alphabetically would work fine for me as well.
Thanks again for your book For the love of Go. You have a talent to teach programming in a clear way. This is my second book on Go and I find it very helpful. My first book was Get programming with Go. Too much theory and not much practice. I think it’s too complicated for a beginner, but also has valuable theory. I like that you also explain how to use VS Code, whereas the other book suggests to use Go Playground instead. Wish you the best on your current and future projects. Definitely will get your other books on Go.
Have a great day!
Andrew
