GUI crash when starting service after upgrade

Open mjb2010 opened this issue 5 years ago • 0 comments

  • I had SimpleDNSCrypt 0.6.2 installed and running on Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit for a long time.
  • Today I downloaded and ran the installer for 0.7.1.
  • When prompted by the installer, because files were in use, I chose to reboot later, and not to run SimpleDNSCrypt now.
  • I rebooted as soon as the installer was done.
  • I ran SimpleDNSCrypt.exe and saw that the service was not running, and no network interfaces were selected..
  • I enabled the service. It took a minute, but the switch icon eventually turned green.
  • SimpleDNSCrypt.exe crashed and I had to choose to Close The Program or Debug The Program.
  • I chose Debug The Program. Dr. Mingw gave me the following unhelpful report (see below).
  • After that, I was able to run SimpleDNSCrypt.exe without incident, including turning the service off and on.
SimpleDnsCrypt.exe caused an Unknown [0xE0434352] Exception at location 000007FEFD57B87D in module KERNELBASE.dll.
