Rules files contain duplicate rules

All of the rule files contain duplicates.
For example, in ProbWL-26-rule-probable-v2.rule, the rule $1 appears five times.

Is there an update on this? I've noticed the same as I'm looking through them. ProbWL-51 for example has mostly duplicates, though I cannot tell if the cracking program will generate combinations of all the rules (e.g. if $1 appears five times and $2 appears three times, eventually I'll get something like password11122112).
