I've looked into this, and the conclusion is that this isn't a good use case for `begmode` and `endmode`. Since we want to enter and exit the subscript/superscript mode explicitly...

@jrbowden Yes, I saw the new tests, and your fixes. There is something I don't quite get though. I didn't see the expected changes to the en-ueb-computer-code.yaml and en-ueb-repeated-underscores.yaml files....
