Doesn't work with videos served via sublimevideo.net

I wanted to speed up videos at https://www.destroyallsoftware.com/, but those are served from http://sublimevideo.net and their weird system seems to screw up this extension (it just has no effect, even though it shows up and is clickable and changes values).

It's definitely a problem on sublimevideo's end (I've submitted a request for them to fix, but maybe there's a way around their system.
