New parameters
Hi, thundeR is currently the best visualization project of rawisondes i have (in contrast with sharpPY and SevereWeather.ch) and i am truly thankful about it. I would recommend though, that we could get even more important parameters for statistical purposes and more. For instance, Effective Percipitable Water (EPW), 3Km Effective SRH, Bulk Richardson Number (BRN), Convective Temperature (CT), Energy Helicity Index (EHI, even though anyone can calculate that parameter), Severe Weather Threat Index (SWEAT), Convective Condensation Level (CCL), Szilagyi waterspout index (SWI). Hope we can get some, if not all of them!
Keep up the excellent work!
Hi! Thank you for your nice words, we really appreciate it. We are currently working on the update of the package that will include around 60 new parameters, your suggestions are very helpful. Among parameters that you listed, SWEAT is already included in the current version of the package. Different versions of EHI will be available in the package update. We will also consider adding CT, CCL, SWI, BRN and PWAT following your suggestions. Currently we are not planning to add effective SRH due to increased number of parcel calculations that would lower script computational performance. Updated version of the package will be probably released in Q4 of 2022.
Best wishes, Mateusz
