Asa Go: Add descriptive text/disclaimer to login page
Describe the task Update the login page with text provided by the PO.
Acceptance Criteria
- [ ] Login page includes descriptive text/disclaimer
- [ ] All Mobile app references
- [ ] Desktop Landing page sub text
Additional context
- Descriptive text: A spatial analysis tool that automates the continuous monitoring, updating, and communication of anticipated fire behaviour that will challenge direct suppression efforts and put the safety of responders at risk.
- ~~A spatial analysis tool that automates the continuous monitoring, updating, and communication of anticipated fire behaviour, enabling early mitigation actions to enhance responder safety.~~
- Disclaimer: Information in ASA Go is intended for all fire fighters and first responders assessing the safety of their work environment on active wildfires in the province of British Columbia. Anyone can create a one time password to access ASA Go. The BC Wildfire Service retains the right to block users who misrepresent information in ASA Go and interfere with the safety of firefighters.
I find this blurb above reads a bit like the tool itself 'challenges direct suppresion efforts'.
What are your thoughts on this version which instead highlights ASA in the positive, being careful to avoid the negative?
ASA Go is a spatial analysis tool that automates the continuous monitoring, updating, and communication of anticipated fire behaviour, enabling early mitigation actions, supporting effective suppression strategies, and enhancing responder safety.
@rajpersram We are going to keep the current text for the ASA Go login screen.
An additional acceptance criteria was a disclaimer. The link inside the app goes to a generic Disclaimer for BC web apps. I'm curious how we can introduce messaging into the Disclaimer regarding appropriate use for those outside of BCWS with One Time Password access, and the right of BCWS to block users for inappropriate use. Maybe we keep this out of the app and show this when someone is creating a One Time Password account.
SOunds good.
For the next part, I think we should inform users as soon as we can, in the One Time Password flow. Here's a starter to discuss:
Access to ASA Go with a One-Time Password is for authorized use only. The BC Wildfire Service reserves the right to monitor activity and revoke access at any time for misuse or actions outside approved operational purposes.
Ran this by Eric and he's happy with it. As long as @nealmcloughlin is good with this, we could pass this along for implementation.
I like the text for the One Time Password @rajpersram. We don't have One Time Password implemented yet, but let's go ahead and get this in a backlog ticket for implementation.
Raj to add text to inform potential users that IDIR (and BCeID?) is needed to use the app, to avoid frustrated users leaving low-star feedback.
The home/landing page is pretty full, so it's not ideal to add the IDIR disclaimer in. Instead, once the user is on the login page, we can show it there as the starting sentence and above the sentences (IDIR users who have registered... etc.) already there.
Updated for IDIR:
Access to ASA Go with a BC Government issued Information Directory (IDIR) login is for authorized use only. The BC Wildfire Service reserves the right to monitor activity and revoke access at any time for misuse or actions outside approved operational purposes.
As we don't have access to the login screen, we'll have to squish it in but hopefully we can condense what's on the landing page for brevity while still checking what's needed. We will need @nealmcloughlin eyes on this before we can implement.
Proposal:
A spatial analysis tool that automates the continuous monitoring, updating, and communication of anticipated fire behaviour.
Access with a BC Government issued IDIR login is for authorized use only, and can be revoked for misuse.
Simplify the IDIR login sentence as follows:
A Government of BC IDIR is required for login.
