Change "BC Registry Dashboard" so it opens external sites in a new tab

After logging into our app, Sites clients will land on the My Registries Dashboard.

A request has come that the link on that page open in a new tab.

This also applies to the CSO link as well

GIVEN I'm logged in and on the My Registries Dashboard WHEN I click any product link THEN I see the icon that indicates this will open in new tab AND The app opens in a new tab

As per requested by Magdalena:

Change "BC Registry Dashboard" so it opens external sites in a new tab, similar to the "Landing Page"

"Landing Page" - The link below opens in a new window:

RPT, or CSO are great examples of this - as they have no linkage back to BC Registries.

@tlebedovich any UI changes needed for this? "Open in new window" or "Open" with the new window Icon beside it?

@seeker25 @JohnamLane Just wondering on the source of this change? Changes like this should be vetted through design. I don't know if the impact to all users/groups has been considered. Would be nice to have a bit more description in the details above.

Once a user logs into BC Reg app and selects CSO or RPT from their dashboard… does their work in there.. and needs to head back into PPR.. how do they navigate back as there is no link to get back to the dashboard? High vol user sent feedback that it’s cumbersome to have to re-log in back and forth all day and was hoping they’re just missing something. I tried seeing this in TEST but it won’t even connect me to CSO - thanks in advance

@JohnamLane can we get a design ticket for this? I've been thinking about it and there are a few user experience complexities we should look at quickly before we implement anything

@JohnamLane @seeker25 I noticed that the design ticket is no longer blocking this. Does the design being implemented consider the following?:

• will all partner application use this interaction?
• are users confused that partner applications have different behaviours than BCROS application?
• are users confused that their browser back button does not return them to their dashboard?
• are users confused that BCROS applications do not open a separate window?
• are users confused that when they have a BCROS application open that they don’t see their dashboard when they return to the BCROS application tab?
• are users annoyed that they have to close multiple browser tabs instead of one?
• should the partner site use our masthead and breadcrumb? do they want to easily access account information or switch accounts?

@janisrogers I have a feeling for CSO it isn't very easy to just use the back button, and I think the same case for Wills when it's deployed. It might take hitting the back button multiple times

Maybe one of the BA's and you could see what the navigation experience is in CSO / the rest of the partner apps? @jennyschan,@zac-broitman maybe @JohnamLane

RPT seems fairly straight forward, same with Site Registries - probably wouldn't need a pop-up

Maybe just a popup for CSO?

Anyways in the meantime, I'll reverse my commit - so this doesn't make it to PROD.

Also.. I noticed it takes two back button presses to get off of the business dashboard - I'll see if I can fix that.
