I am interested in contributing this feature. Do you have a clear picture in mind of what this would look like?

From reading #16 providing the rb_bundle_fetch repo rule, it sounds like @sushain97 may have prior art in a private fork. Would you be able to share the relevant bits?

There was some discussion in Bazel Slack about this, but I'm not sure how far @cgrindel got in his attempt to implement it.

Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to dig into this. However, I would still love this feature.

@joeljeske I don't have any insights into the implementation. I look forward to seeing what you develop.
