GetAppList form ISteamApps Interface got removed (seems like)

My cron job started returning 404 errors this morning. After investigating, I discovered that the endpoint ISteamApps/GetAppList appears to have been removed — it now returns 404.

Calling:

https://api.steampowered.com/ISteamApps/GetAppList/v2/

now returns:

Several Reddit users mentioned that this endpoint might have been replaced by:

https://api.steampowered.com/IStoreService/GetAppList/v1

However, I haven't been able to find any official changelog or announcement from Valve/Steam regarding this change. It seems like the old endpoint has been removed, possibly in preparation for a replacement, so this might be useful info for anyone relying on it.

Just wanted to share this as a heads-up for future updates.

I did notice this endpoint was returning 503 yesterday and early today, and now it's returning 404. Strangely, the endpoint is still documented here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/webapi/isteamapps. I have seen endpoints disappear for awhile and then return with no explanation. I think for now I will leave the wrapper in this library until we see anything official about it being removed (such as it disappearing from the official documentation).
