It would be nice to have the option to select where the clock shows up left/right. I would much rather have it on the left-hand side. text-align: left; didn't do the trick float: left; made it show up at the beginning of the right-hand side. I'm including a screenshot with an X of where I would like it to be

I like this idea, thank you for it. The clock positioning could probably be set as left, center, or right. I'm on it!

I looked into the APIs for the status bar and apparently they would only allow left and right placement. Of course, going down this way would mean the element should be destroyed and redrawn I suppose.
