Import into Notepad++ v6.6.9 fails with error "Fail to import"

I downloaded the less.xml file, opened Notepad++, then as instructed clicked menu Language/Import - selected downloaded less.xml file, then just the bare error pop up "Fail to import". Any suggestions...
