Kudos on the project!
I've just got SimpleMailArchive stood up, and I'm enjoying it! Exactly what I needed, thanks! (Shame that it hasn't got more usage / recognition.)
To let you know, I've got it running in Kubernetes, fronted via a reverse proxy and auth. Works (mostly) great!
Few thoughts (I could make separate issues for these)
- I have 45,000 odd emails imported. I get slowness in a few places.
- On container start (long time before the app is accessible, a few minutes)
- On page load and certain interactions (appears to be pulling in a bunch of data client side?)

I had to fiddle a bit to keep my email password secure. (I use an initcontainer to dynamically generate / alter the account config.) Would be great if the password at least could be supplied via an environment variable?

It was not immediately obvious that things like the IMAP port and the connection security (STARTTLS vs SSL/TLS) is not configurable. I managed to get it working, but more flexibility in this area may make it more attractive to others.
Anyway, thanks again, this is a useful project that I appreciate you building. :)
