Migrate new products/categories

Can this module be used to migrate new content from a development database into our live production database? For example, as we add new product lines we will add/design those categories with group and associated simple products to our development database. Afterwards, we are looking for a method to move those changes to the live production website.

@davidbarman This might be possible, but there currently is no way to export category information

So what is the recommended or typical method for updating a live database with new content from a development system?
