Add YubiKey support

Currently I'm using KeePassXC on my desktop and it would be great to be able to unlock the key file with the YubiKey also on iOS/Android

Do you have any more details/documentation how KeePassXC has implemented YubiKey? What exactly do you mean with unlock the key file? So you have a master password, key file AND YubiKey? :-)

To unlock the key file with a YubiKey you will need the master password and the YubiKey. On the KeePassXC FAQ site there you will find more information.

There are at least two iOS Apps which supports the Yubikey on iOS

• Strongbox

• KeePassium

hmm.. thanks for the links.. 👍️ although I couldn't quite find an obvious description of how the challenge keepassxc uses actually looks like. It's definitely something worth considering. Right now not really a high priority for me personally, would be happy to support anyone who wants to give it a try though ;-)

If you could provide exact details how the challenge/response would have to be implemented maybe some #hacktoberfest participants find it 😅️

(fyi the key file + master password is the composite key for your kdbx file, i don't think it is ever "unlocked" - i guess the yubikey basically replaces the key file 🤔️).

I would also be interested in the same feature for the same reason. Maybe this helps: https://keepassxc.org/docs/#faq-yubikey-no-extra-file I think it would also be necessary to enable support for KDBX 4 as some KeePassXC features require that version.
