Consider a different name

Atomic Data is a working title, and it might change. I like the way it sounds, how it refers to the smallest possible amount of data (indivisible, hence atomic), and how you can use the prefix Atomic to refer to specific elements (e.g. Atomic Mutations, Atomic Paths), but:

  • Atomic data can also refer to shared-memory communication between threads (e.g. rust/atomic)
  • There are quite a bit of 'atomic *' projects on the interwebs, it's not a really unique name. There's a business called atomic data. This also means that many atomic names in package managers (npm, cargo, etc.) are already taken.

So let's take a moment to consider some alternatives.

  • Tyli: Typed, Linked data. It's short, it's catchy, it stands for the essence of the project. However, converting the way that it's spelled is unconventional an non-trivial, one might expect 'tily', 'tai-lee', or 'ty-lee'.
