Setting environment variables for installed packages

It would be nice if there was a way to wrap installed console and gui apps so that they pick up Arch Linux settings. Ones I have noticed so far are:

• [ ] TERMINFO: Setting this to /usr/share/terminfo makes readline-based console apps behave properly within xterm, etc.
• [ ] LOCALE_ARCHIVE: This is a Nix-specific patch to glibc. If set to /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive, locales seem to work.
