I got the perfect idea - Throw an error or warning message when this fails to compile based on this permissions issue specific setting!
This is still an issue, my goodness! I'm excited to switch to using the nix-darwin module for karabiner elements. Im hoping this gets fixed...
with the change in nix-darwin using system only config, defaults now makes more sense to be fully declaritive. What's the current state of this plan?

we need a `way-displays --reload` becuase for me, in sway, changes don't apply to my regex defined monitor selections unless I kill the server, run it again, then run `way-displays...
