Drag and Drop with RelativeLayout / FrameLayout

When in the item_grid.xml I change layout to the RelativeLayout or FrameLayout, drag and drop stops work. Why is that? Is it possible to use RelativeLayout or FrameLayout there?

I believe the author doesn't support this repository anymore, nor is he willing to provide anyone with push credentials. Someone needs to make a fork and maintain it.
