MacOSX illegal instructions
Does anyone have an idea why the mac version does not start on my end? I have an M1 MacBook Pro 16 GB. I assume it has something to do with the arm processor plattform.
./chat_mac -m ggml-alpaca-7b-q4.bin -t 8 --temp 0.8 -c 2048
main: seed = 1679666395
llama_model_load: loading model from 'ggml-alpaca-7b-q4.bin' - please wait ...
zsh: illegal hardware instruction ./chat_mac -m ggml-alpaca-7b-q4.bin -t 8 --temp 0.8 -c 2048
I also have the exact same problem.
MacBook Pro M1-Pro 16gb ram
`(alpaca) steppi@MacBook-Pro-di-steppi alpaca.cpp % ./chat
main: seed = 1679862105
llama_model_load: loading model from 'ggml-alpaca-7b-q4.bin' - please wait ...
zsh: illegal hardware instruction ./chat `
same here. any solution?
The same error, both with "chat" compiled on the local machine and with the downloaded "chat_mac"

MacPro 5.1 Mid 2010 macOS 12.6.3 Build 21G419 (Monterey) 6-Core Intel Xeon CPU X5670 24 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
same error. any solutions?
For me, I got it working through rebuiling everything from CMakelists.txt by hand.
