Open shanepadgett opened this issue 1 week ago • 12 comments

Description

Was working fine until latest update. Now a bunch of Copilot models like 5.2-Codex and Raptor are saying feature needs to be enabled. It is enabled and I can use those models in VSCode Copilot, but not opencode.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Connect with copilot
  2. Models list has all the models. I have them all enabled in copilot settings in github.

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #7256: GitHub Copilot provider lists unavailable models instead of org-enabled ones
  • #6251: Github Copilot Models missing
  • #5566: Error saying The requested model is not supported. when trying to create new agent

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

And to be clear, regular 5.2 works.

Update: Also on v1.1.21 and reauthenticated with official Copilot plugin introduced in this release.

I'm running into this as well. I have all models are enabled in my Copilot Pro settings, but 5.2-Codex returns an error in opencode.

5.2-Codex is functional within Github Copilot Web, and I made sure to accept the terms of the popup window on first use as well.

I am also experiencing this issue, but it appears to be with all models. 5.2 and 5.2-Codex both return not supported despite being enabled in my org settings. I was previously using 5.1-Codex, but it isn't even available in the list for OpenCode desktop anymore.

Got this issue also, but only with Gemini 3 flash model, worked normally with GPT-5.2 and Haiku-4.5

Not 100% sure if raptor will continue being an option here (waiting on answer from Copilot team), but they have fixed the codex issue, there may be some caching on their side if you still hit error but give it some time and youll stop hitting it

rekram1-node avatar Jan 15 '26 17:01 rekram1-node

Codex works now, I just had to reauth copilot again.

mohak34 avatar Jan 15 '26 17:01 mohak34

They fixed the problem! You could re-authenticate to use copilot again on opencode

BarriBarri20 avatar Jan 15 '26 17:01 BarriBarri20

Okay this should be fixed, btw it is expected for raptor to not work, I've removed it from models list

rekram1-node avatar Jan 15 '26 19:01 rekram1-node

May I ask why the raptor is being removed? It is still present in VS Code and other IDEs, and is available in GitHub Copilot settings. Are they restricting it to approved tools only, or is it being removed completely?

I'm still getting this with: gemini-3-pro-preview @rekram1-node
