This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #2380: bug: immediately exits and other processes never exit - Reports the same "killed opencode" message when starting the application, with multiple orphaned processes left running

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

I am also experiencing this on 1.1.21 on macOS sequoia. I had just finished running a subagent session when it got killed Ghostty went into this weird state where every interaction put out those like ;524[ codes (idk what they're called)

I opened opencode desktop while it was running and it prompted me to update to 1.1.21 (was on 1.1.14) so maybe updating mid-generation corrupted something?

same for me since today.

Got the same error. Updated to 1.1.23 and now I can execute opencode -v but when I try using it I get a blank terminal. I also tried the App and it gets stuck on the 'Initializing' screen. Apple M1 Max Tahoe 26.2

EDIT: Works now!
