Do not deselect comparable already selected value with setSelection.

~~I was not able to run the ng-dev commands. The build system does not seem to find (or doesn't compile) the ng-dev config files. I'm using volta to manage node and yarn. Any pointers what could be wrong with my dev setup?~~

It wasn't working with node 18.19. With node v18.18.2 I was able to run the pre-commit checks.
