Paste in old versions not working for certain mobile configurations

You can replicate this on the demo. We have a note3 at our work that has Android 5.0.0 and chrome 39.0.2171.93. When pasting into the field with an input mask nothing is happening. I've tried on a more recent nexus6p running latest and it is fine leading me to believe it's an older version of chrome.
