CSAI ads with IMA for live stream?
I have a live stream where I am detecting the ad markers scte-In and Scte-Out. Is it possible to use IMA for this scenario. I need to show ads when scte is detected. How can I control the ad playback using single exoplayer instance.
The ExoPlayer extension for IMA ads supports what the IMA SDK supports. The SDK gives the extension events upon which the ExoPlayer IMA extension reacts.
You would need to speak to the IMA team whether the SCTE events are looked at and translated into IMA ad events. If this is the case, then this should work for the IMA extension in the same way as when the ad information comes from any other events.
In any case you would need to have your live stream have ads stitched in at the server side. The client-side IMA SDK doesn't support live streams as far as I can tell.
