CameraXBasic photo gallery doesn't work

Run CameraXBasic, take a photo, tap the thumbnail. The page in the gallery is black. Go back to the camera, the thumbnail is now gone (transparent).

This is on a Google Pixel API 29.

Probably should be passing Glide URIs not Files?
