Record multiple videos without closing the camera

What I am looking for is to be able to start preview, start recording video, end recording video , and I wan to do that in a way, that I don't have to restart the camera after stopping the recording process, so that I don't loose ANY FRAME in the preview, in short, I want to not stop the camera when I stop recording, and by not closing the camera I don't mean to reopen it after closing it. is this task doable?
