Navigation controls for embedded story (amp-story-player)

Describe the new feature or change to an existing feature you'd like to see

An option to display navigation controls/ tools (such as forward, back, restart) in the embedded story (amp-story-player) would be helpful for some viewers.

Hey! Thanks for your report.

Can I ask if you're using the player manually or through some tool? We have some programmatic APIs where you can control the story being displayed using the go() method (#29097). Although navigating through individual story pages programmatically is still not supported, but is coming soon as an extension of the go() method.

These APIs could be used to create navigation controls like you mentioned, but if you are using a tool to embed the player, we should contact them to create these extensions using these APIs.

@Enriqe It's through the Web Stories WordPress plugin. Renee is on our support team :-) I think what one of our users reported in https://github.com/google/web-stories-wp/issues/3561 is that out-of-the-box it is not clear to visitors how they can interact with the player. There are no left/right arrows for instance.
