Is it possible to embed external files on the machine?

I use org-roam on emacs and am considering switching to Obsidian. One thing I do frequently is create links to source code on my machine, so when I'm looking through my notes I can easily jump to these files. I imagine it's possible that due to how Obsidian is created, this might not be possible, but I'm wondering if it is?
