Variable instead of html element

Sorry if this has been asked before. I couldn't find it in previous issues.

Is there a way to apply typeit to a variable instead of a HTML element? I'm using Vue and would be happy for Vue to handle the updating of the page based on a reactive variable.

Same. I'm a Vue user and I also expect this, at least as a optional feature. Or just an extension for Vue would be great.
