Isn't working with new Spotify Update

Open sandydandy opened this issue 10 years ago • 4 comments

I updated Spotify and now the remote doesn't work with it. I get an error when I open Spotify, it says "Spotify 1.0.1.1060.gc75ebdfd has not been tested with the plugin SpotifyRemote. As a precaution, it has not bee loaded."

Yes, same situation here:

Spotify 1.0.1.1060.gc75ebdfd (v1.0.1.1060.gc75ebdfd-190) has not been tested with the plugin SpotifyRemote (null) (v1.3).
As a precaution, it has not been loaded. Please contact the plugin developer for further information.

Is the author still working in it? It seems there are no updates since 3 years ago.

The same for Spotify 1.0.3.101.gbfa97dfe (v1.0.3.101.gbfa97dfe-50) any planned updates or similar plugins?

And you can now control your Spotity on Mac from your iOS/Android Spotity app (from anywhere in your house if you're on same wifi), in reality this plugin is not so much needed anymore. Mac anyway keeps on insisting to letting the remote and the shortcut icons trigger itunes (may it please soon rest in peace for that) from time to time still..

So to get rid of this issue, simply follow the instructions to uninstall this plugin:

To uninstall the plugin just quit Spotify and then open Finder and browse to Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > SIMBL > Plugins and delete SpotifyRemote.bundle
