Audiobook Support (not necessarily player)
I am looking for an all in one solution (by that I mean eBook and audiobook catalogue in one). I love the Booklore interface (except lack of light mode for main UI) and functionality. The magic shelves, similar books, layout etc., are all fabulous. As a result, I really want to go with Booklore, but the inability to have an Audiobook library is a big limitation for me.
🌟 Benefits
I would be working in the one system and would have to set up two applications and workflows to manage different formats of books. If BL implemented this feature, instead I could create a library of Audiobooks.
I'm not suggesting an audiobook player be created, a great first step would be to allow for records to be created based on these formats, housing them in BL so users could download them.
💻 Use Cases
- Users setting up family/friend sharing that need all books, regardless of format, accessible via the one application to cater for the less tech savvy (who would get confused going between different applications.
- Those of us who like to keep books with books, films with films etc.
🎨 Technical Details (Optional)
- Book details page would have a download link to save a local copy of the file.
- A bonus would be to have the option to send the file to a local audiobook player.
- Book details page would capture relevant metadata (such as narrator, duration etc.)
📌 Additional Context
Currently, Audiobookshelf can support both eBooks and Audiobooks (and can show both formats in the one record if files are saved to the same folder or slinks are used), but it lacks a lot of the amazing functionality of Booklore.
