Algorithms for tree layouts

Thanks for creating this wonderful package. I have been using it and its really amazing. I especially like the tree layout algorithms. Other than reading the source code and trying to figure out how they work are there any references to pseudo-code for drawing trees in various layouts. I managed to find some references to equal daylight and equal angle algorithms but not for how to draw circular layout and fan layouts. Any help or references would be greatly appreciated.
