[Request]: Add an option to save personal vehicles after modifying them through the vehicle editor

Open cvrxiw opened this issue 7 months ago • 28 comments

Describe the bug

Maybe this bug is only for me but everytime i put bennys wheels on a car that dont support them in vanilla like the Coquette Classic. I tried differents things like put the wheels on, go in a LS custom chage something on the car to save the change but everytime i restart the game the bennys are gone.

So if u guys got a solution tell me. Thanks (i am french so if u dont understand something in this tell me).

vehicle editor should not be used on personal vehicles.

Are you sure? Is cvrxiw really in FSL mode? Maybe that's why he's having trouble saving custom wheels. Maybe I'm wrong or didn't understand his question correctly.

are you able to save vehicle editor changes to PV. Looks like you are going LSC in the game, doing Vehicle Editor changes and then also doing small changes like changing plate in LSC and then game seems to like save the every change done to that pv?

Im not into modding so idk if im in FSL or not, i got Xenos as injector and i just installed it. So maybe im doing it wrong and thats why it failed

Yes, you were right too. I don't use the vehicle editor to save my personal car, but I save with LSC, otherwise the vehicle would revert to its previous configuration when I re-enter the garage. However, I can choose the car I want in the Yim Vehicles menu and from there I can easily modify the entire vehicle with the editor and save it as a personal car, choose the garage, and save it without LSC.

For me work if I spawn car I want then mod it then save it so its become PV

No, sorry, I don't use Discord at all. I can only help on GitHub, and it also helps new members who have questions like you. Important: Learn about FSL mode because you have to restart the story mode and start GTA Online from scratch. Unless you have an additional account, because it's a local save. There's no control like cloud saving, so there's no risk of getting banned with FSL and Battleeye disabled. However, you're forced to play alone or with friends who also have FSL, because in public mode, you're kicked after a short time.

Personal vehicles can also be customized. Just after the modification, close the editing page and go to the LSC to modify any item, then it can be saved.

For FSL mode There is an FSL link in the readme link

Hi @ShinyWasabi @maybegreat48 . Is it a good thing if we can add a button Save Changes to this PV when its a pv? Its weird that people have to go into LSC in game to do work arounds and save changes XD. I personally don't know how to do it.

Same... I've tried countless times before while testing. But no matter what changes I applied at LSC after modifying a PV with Yim's editor, only the changes made with LSC would stick. If MOTOR-1 is telling the truth I'd like to know how they do it haha

Undefxned avatar Jun 16 '25 10:06 Undefxned

Yeah me to i change the plate, the Windows tint or the brakes but it doesnt save when i restart the game

cvrxiw avatar Jun 16 '25 10:06 cvrxiw

Sorry, after I edited the vehicle, I changed to a new battle scenario. It's still there, so I think the PV is effective. However, after restarting the game, the PV returned to its original state. I think the solution is to add a button to delete personal vehicles. If a vehicle doesn't meet your expectations, delete it, re-edit, and save it as a PV. What do you all think?

Psyduck666666 avatar Jun 16 '25 10:06 Psyduck666666

Yeah maybe but if u buy a car on Luxury or Southerns its already a Personnal Vehicle so u cant put it as a Personnal Vehicle in the LSC

I think I've found a solution:

if (auto slot = g_SavedMPGlobals::Get()->Entries[0].GeneralSaved.LastSavedCar)
{
	static ScriptFunction savePVData("am_mp_vehicle_reward"_J, ScriptPointer("SavePVData", "2D 0C 10 00 00"));
	savePVData.Call<void>(vehicle, slot, true, false, true, false, true, false, false, -1, 0, false);
}

But I need to test if it has any side effects.

so do i need to use FSL to put the bennys wheel on ?

I don't usually talk nonsense with visual evidence. You're free to believe me or not. Also, remember that I'm in FSL mode. R* cloud backup is disabled in the R* menu settings. I have no problem saving my personal vehicle modifications.

I typed that before I saw you edit your previous post to specify that you're using FSL. Now it makes sense. For non-FSL users that's impossible to my knowledge, because I've tried almost anything and couldn't get them to stick.

That's true, I agree, but I based my comments on what was written in cvrxiw's bug report. Anticheat bypass mode With FSL So, obviously, like everyone else, they don't mention being in FSL mode, so I don't find it logical that it doesn't work for everyone. It's just a communication problem.

The annoying thing for me is that I have to translate what I say with Google, knowing that my native language isn't English. That doesn't excuse FSL.

And? Why are you replying to a YM issue with that irrelevant information? You're just confusing everyone, this is not mini garage github. Anyway too many people feel the need to comment nonsense and this thread is getting flooded for no reason, I won't waste my time indulging anyone anymore.

Is it possible to add feature to manipulate crew color so we can apply it in LSC and we can get a custom colors from it?

BasicallyNobody avatar Jun 28 '25 15:06 BasicallyNobody

i havent confirmed this works with every vehicle mod however as a none FSL user i can say mods to PV is def possible just use personal garage enter change what you want changed in the menu however in my experience it will only stick one change at a time and only if you reconfirm that change while in the animation of driving out of the shop i found this while driving cars off the street and then spawning inside whatever vehicle i wanted to claim because u cant spawn a vehicle and just drive it in ur garage
