https://github.com/xinntao/BasicSR/issues/284#issuecomment-688728978 you need to use Matlab.

@Williamlizl What is your purpose? Do you just upsample your photos by X2, X3, X4 factors, or other purpose?

@Williamlizl Usually, we download high-resolution images to generate low-resolution images, then construct the LR-HR training pairs.

For different purpose, you may need different downsampling methods.

  • Some papers use MATLAB bicubic downsampling for research purpose (for a fair comparison with previous works)
  • If you want to deal with real-world images, try to use a downsampling method that closer to your real data distribution. (You may also check BlindSR papers)
