Import meta for nav_menu_item posts

The importer has never included menu item post meta. But now that WordPress 5.4 finally supports custom fields via the wp_nav_menu_item_custom_fields it would be a good time to add support for importing/exporting menu meta.

Wow. Your original post was 7 years ago! I just got bit by this and would love for all post meta for nav_menu_items to be imported.

It only took 8 to get the wp_nav_menu_item_custom_fields hook in, so there's still a year to go here.... :) If you need nav meta to be imported I added a custom importer to my Nav Menu Roles plugin, which should help. It's been ages since I tested it though...
