cannot resume UI after sleep, black screen with cursor

Describe the bug PC: Lenovo legion PRO 5, fw set to switchable graphic, but with only amdgpu driver active (nouveau blacklisted). After some hours of not using my laptop, screen turns black, as in sleep, backlight is on, but nothing can make wayfire to resume, i just see mouse cursor.

wayfire log shows infnite lines as [src/output/render-manager.cpp:343] Output test failed!

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Leave laptop on for abt 2 hours without any action
  2. Try to wake it

Expected behavior Wayfire UI to come back

Wayfire version 0.9.0-d4360a08 (Jan 2 2024, branch HEAD) wlroot: 0.16 kernel 6.8.0-rc3-devel mainline (tested several other, issue seems not related to the kernel).

Does the same happen under for example Sway, Hyprland, River or some other wlroots-based compositor? To me this unfortunately sounds like a bug in some lower level than Wayfire, because of the log messages you mentioned.
