Lint fixes and minor improvements

This PR cleans up the code and increases the RPC activity update interval to 15 seconds as per the RPC ratelimit

I don't understand the lint fix (4 indents or 2 is all about personal preference) but I do understand the 15e3 why don't they merge it tho 😕
