Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I opened the onscreen (virtual) keyboard using my steam controller and it was one third of it's normal height, this started after the March 10/11, 2025 update and makes the onscreen (virtual) keyboard very difficult to use sitting back from the tv 3 meters. I checked the beta branch and the issue is there too.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Update to March 10 or 11, 2025 version of steam.
  2. Open onscreen (virtual) keyboard.
  3. Squint at tv while trying to type a comment/reply.

Opted into the beta client to test the recently added desktop mode scaling slider, very nice addition for 4K living room couch gaming by the way, and this issue with the onscreen keyboard is gone. The issue persists on the stable client for now, but I'll just run the beta until this gets pushed to stable.

and the July 31st beta update broke the desktop UI scaling in X.org ... classic.

and it seems to be back to normal with the August 4th beta update ... after switching my download region from Boston to NY oddly enough.
