[CS2] Crash when replaying demo, GetClassBaseline: FindStringIndex failed

Open karl-police opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

I recorded a demo and tried to record it into Source Filmmaker, but noticed that CS2 crashed.

So I only opened CS2 and was able to always get the crash.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Open up Dust II (I tested this on Dust II)
  2. Ensure no one gets the weapon that you spawn in.
  3. type record any_demo_file_name
  4. press ESC to ensure the console is closed (so that the demo starts)
  5. after that, open the console again and type in sv_cheats 1
  6. type give weapon_deagle
  7. ensure that there's a deagle on the floor, otherwise try giving a different weapon
  8. type stop in console, to stop recording

now you can play the demo using playdemo path/to/file

when you go around the time where the deagle gets spawned in, you successfully reproduced the crash

once I fixed an issue in Portal 2 before Valve did it :)

and I am still waiting for them to fix it there :/

I think it's kinda pathetic that this crash has been here since BETA(!!!) and is still not fixed...

Still happening on Windows and Linux. I used subclass_create command but multiple errors came up for other (probably on the ground) weapons.
