[BUG] Theater Mode has no player - Beta 2.1.7

Describe the bug When attempting to play a non-VR game in Theater Mode, no display is shown. Maybe a sister bug to #565?

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open SteamVR
2. Launch Team Fortress 2
3. Navigate to the theater view for the game
4. Observe completely missing display

Expected behavior Theater Mode should display something, even if that's glitched.

System Information (please complete the following information):

• Distribution: Arch Linux
• SteamVR version: beta 2.1.7
• Steam client version: 1700676668
• Opted into Steam client beta?: Yes
• Graphics driver version: Mesa 1:23.2.1-2
