[BUG] Pair Controller and Settings menus don't open

Open neonmoe opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Describe the bug When I open SteamVR, and try to open either Settings or Devices -> Pair Controller, nothing happens. Nothing gets logged when I do it either.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start SteamVR.
  2. Click on the three lines at the top left.
  3. Hover over "Devices".
  4. Click on "Pair Controller".

Expected behavior I'd expect a window to appear, containing the pairing view when clicking Pair Controller, and the settings menu when clicking Settings.

System Information (please complete the following information):

  • Distribution: Arch
  • SteamVR version: 1.23.7
  • Steam client version: built on Aug 20 2022, at 00:53:07.
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Graphics driver version: Mesa 22.1.6
  • Gist for SteamVR System Information: here.

Additional context Happens to my friend as well, who is on X11 with an nvidia gpu, but otherwise a similar Arch system. Seems like the same issue as #490, except that the workaround(s) don't seem to work.

Note: Commenters who are also experiencing this issue are encouraged to include the "System Information" section in their replies.

Same for me on Nobara 40 with Gnome 46 on X. So annoying...

Edit: Found a workaround. Start SteamVR on Wayland session. There the pairing worked for me.
