[Big Picture] "square" symbols/chars in the steam client update window on non-latin locale

Using russian locale on steamos big picture mode I can see only square-like symbols when steam clien is updating (update window).

Other locale messages in big picture mode works well (symbols prints in right locale)

The "update window" tarvitz referring is plymouth screen. Cyrillic symbols in messages are displayed as squares. This issue is still present in Brewmaster 2.70

The issue still exists. The SteamOS version is "SteamOS 2.0 update 1:2.195".
