window manager dont blink when match is found

Open voidplayer opened this issue 7 years ago • 5 comments

Running debian testing with latest everything

Window manager is kwin under xcfe4. I dont know if this is a feature that doesnt work on linux or its just not a feature at all

If its not, it should. I mean, nobody is playing tf2 comp, but for the dozen of us that are, we could be doing something else while waiting if the tf2 notified the player somehow. I bet at least half of the people abandoning comp matches is just people that alt tabbed and didnt realized they were in match

Possibly related to https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/2017 / https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/3835. As far as I know, there isn't a standardized method for this across all major DEs.

OP, can you retest with the new 64-bit binaries + Vulkan render? Also, DEs have been updated by now.

Ill retest this later

Has this been addressed or you want me to retest in case it works by chance?

TF2 recently has received a big update for 64-bit binaries + Vulkan render for Windows and Linux, so it may work by chance. The desktop environments also have been updated since then, which may have fixed your issue.

Just tested it under latest kde and 64 binary + vulkan

Still doesnt work

The work around is to have the friends window open in a corner because your status gets updated when you find a match
