Desktop applications no longer available in releases

The README and documentation still recommends desktop rather than self-hosting, and points to /releases, however there are no desktop builds in recent releases. I was looking for a macOS build, and, paging through, and it looks like:

  • macOS last build was v0.14.15 on Dec 15, 2020
  • AppImage last build was v0.14.16 on Dec 20, 2020
  • windows last build was v0.14.17 on Jan 14, 2021
  • there have been 9 source-only releases since

If dropping support for desktop apps was not intentional, could they be built, e.g. for 14.27?
If it was intentional, could the readme and docs be updated to reflect that?

This is still not resolved. Could someone please explain how to download the .exe files?
