The pixel dungeon entry has no inspiration listed, but it is inspired by Brogue, another rougelike with some similar mechanics. This is stated in the in-game credits:

This game is inspired by Brian Walker's Brogue. Try it on Windows, Mac OS or Linux - it's awesome! ;)
