Budget Headphone Mode

Feature request

I am requesting that a "Budget Headphone Mode" be implemented that plays a quiet white noise in the background so my budget headphones don't cut off sentences.

Narrative

Hi friends, I have a special request.

When I listen to audiobooks with my budget Bluetooth headphones, it cuts off the first word of each sentence. This seems like a common problem, something to do with the pauses, the only workaround I’ve found is to have a white noise playing quietly as a second audio source so the headphones don’t think there is a pause.

I was wondering if you’d be able to implement a “Budget Headphones” mode where you can have a white noise play very quietly in the background of the audiobook, so I don’t have to open a white noise app each time I want to listen to an audiobook. The kind person who I originally emailed regarding my issue mentioned: "Thanks for bringing this up, as you mentioned, this could easily be a setting to be added. I'm not really sure how to do a white noise loop, I guess we could have a second player under the hood doing that".

As I said it seems like a common problem (Google “first word of each sentence gets cut off audiobook”), so I and others would be eternally grateful if you could add this feature, but I completely understand if you can’t.

Have a great days friends, love your app.

It's been a while since you posted this idea, but iOS has the accessibility feature Background Sounds that might help with your issue (at least until this feature is added to BookPlayer):
