Additional sort options for Library and Playlists
~1 - offer a 'select' option in book list so you can multi select books to add to a playlist. Perhaps swipe right to start selecting similar to Things 3?~ 2 -Sort by author's name, length or recent.

Also, where should playlists appear in the sort? Currently they are sorted along with the books. As there is little to visually distinguish them they are not quick to find. Perhaps they should be sorted to top with the books below?
In missing distinction is intentional. This gives people the option to use Playlists just like they use books. Many of our users import books split into multiple small files which would be annoying to handle if not put into a playlist.
To continue your request, I think adding another sort option to the Library to put playlists on top sounds reasonable.
Sort by author's name
Actually, I would love to see this possibility as well. I have all my books tagged with the author's name and it would be neat to have this feature.
