does anyone have any updated source for this book?
i just got into this finally, and the helloworld app dont even run??!! i guess i waited to long!!! its almost not worth buying books when the language updates make them obsolete in just a couple years!!

I just tried FullScreenRenderingExample.java and it worked (if a totally black computer monitor with some updating text is correct). Had to comment out some offending statements pointed out by javac. So maybe helloworld app also would work after all these years if I played around with it.
If you could post some info, such as OS and Java version, plus some errors, that would really help.
Do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of the law. thank you timothy i loved your book and consider it a staple in java gaming even to this day. it had been a few years since i worked in java and maybe i did something dumb?!! wouldnt be the first time!! i have been doing alot of monogame programming and i would love to have you do a book on that!! in fact if you ever plan to ill pre-order the day you say you wrote the title!!! so the code in the java book is all still working then? this is a hobbie for me and i really dont know the ins and outs of programming just the basics to about 9 different languages!! i was at one time really interested in java when your book came out actually. but i have a hard time going off on my own?? hard to explain i find myself going over the examples in a book many times and just never doing anything on my own? i love to write code but??? idk what it is i really am looking for! maybe ill fire up netbeans and give it another shot thank you for getting back to me, and seriously MonoGame!!! it took over for XNA and i am pissed about that too!! i bought every book i could find on xna and then they just drop it!!! thanks again Love is the law, love under will.
