Idea: DDR Pad
Popped in my head when thinking about Navicontroller.
- DIY pad with:
- Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC): When an electric current is applied, the liquid crystal droplets align and allow light to pass through, making the material transparent. Without the current, these droplets scatter light, turning the material opaque. This technology is commonly used in smart windows, privacy screens, and even for decorative purposes. PDLC films can be applied to various substrates, including plastics, to create this effect. When integrated into a plastic sheet, it functions similarly to smart glass but with the flexibility and other properties of plastic.
- Track lights for each of the dance buttons on a grid from the camera, when pressure is applied, current is applied to make the plastic opaque long enough to register as a press to the camera.
- If could get latency down low enough, could bring back to life some of the older DDR titles trappedo older consoles.
- would be in line with some of the calibration stuff you've been working on.
